Description
The badge was introduced by Adolf Hitler on 29 January 1944 and was thought to be retroactively validated from 1 January 1943. The award was to be given to commanders, vice commanders and teams involved in the fight against “banditen” and was produced in three importance levels.
First level (Bronze) – 20 days of fight
Second level (Silber) – 50 days of fight
Third level (Gold) – 100 days of fight
Since 5 October 1944, the badge was no longer reserved to Wehrmacht, Waffen-SS or Einsatzgruppen of Security Police and the SD, but anyone who had actively participated in the “banditen fighting” could get it.
